I just can’t get enough of couples like Taylor and Joe! They don’t take themselves too seriously, AND they simply want photos taken in beautiful surroundings with a dash of adventure. Could there be a more perfect formula for an adventure engagement session?!
Our day in Zion National Park began hotter than we would have liked hitting upwards of 105 degrees by midday. Since it was SO hot, there wasn’t much we could do throughout the day except for sunrise and sunset shoots when the temperature cooled.
We met up early to walk through The Narrows which can only be done during specific summer weeks otherwise it’s too dangerous due to flash floods.
We arrived at just the right time. After we rented our water boots we hiked out into The Narrows which is a river that runs through a giant canyon of red rock. We stopped here and there to capture Taylor and Joe having some fun splashing in the water, exploring, and sneaking a kiss or two. Carrying a camera through The Narrows was no joke but I made it work! Did I mention it was HOT?
Once the temperature finally started to drop, we hiked out to Canyon Overlook for a sunset session. It was amazing to behold the sun changing the canyon’s colors from orange and finally to blue at this iconic spot in Zion National Park. It was so beautiful that we even shot a little into blue hour and explored as much as the setting sun would allow!
Traveling from one spot to the other in Zion National Park made this engagement session super exciting! I think it’s so special to not only capture your love, but also the adventure that comes with the day. It is my pleasure to come along for the entire day so my couples have a complete beautiful story to tell through the memories I capture.
