I was super honored and excited when my sister-in-law asked me to shoot her engagement photos with her husband-to-be. After getting to know them through their dating relationship over the past two years–I knew just where to go for their sunset forest adventure session.
Their session had to be outdoors and it most definitely needed to be adventurous. These two are both outdoorsy and they love to do crazy things like rock climbing and mountaineering. They regularly love to summit 14,000 feet mountains so we had to do something a little crazy for their adventure session.
I instantly thought of a spot in Big Bear Lake, California that would be perfect for photos and the perfect location to encompass their relationship. I had just shot in Big Bear for three weekends in a row but I had zero complaints!
One crazy thing all of us enjoy is off-roading so we had a blast doing a bit to get to the lake. We arrived just as the sun was setting and spent our time frolicking in the tall green grass. Cory was really nervous because he had never had his photos taken before but he looks so natural!
To say we had too much fun is an understatement. These two were just the sweetest and trusted me enough to play around and be creative with some of our shots. We tried out some crazy ideas! It was truly refreshing to challenge my creativity in a shoot again at this sunset forest adventure session.
It’s always an honor to shoot family members and friends to give them photos that they will have forever. I made the most beautiful prints for both their wedding decor and to hang in their new home. I just loved getting to run around in the woods with them and create some seriously awesome magic!
Even if we haven’t met yet, I would LOVE to take photos of your next adventure!!
