To make your dream a reality, all you need is a guide. These two wanted to adventure in a place completely new to them both. I was so grateful to be the elopement photographer they chose to take them on this journey! They selected Arches National Park in Moab as a first-time adventure to explore and discover together! What they learned was to…
They wanted to wear the suit and the wedding dress twice. Amber and Joseph decided to do an elopement-style adventure session instead of a first look on their wedding day. It was so much easier to do this outside of the pressures of the wedding day timeline and to get more shots in their wedding clothes!
It was the couple’s very first trip to Arches National Park in Moab and they arrived a few days before our session to explore! Amber and Joseph were super excited to get up at the crack of dawn for their Arches National Park sunrise photo session. There are SO many beautiful little nooks and arches in Moab that make it one of the most unique elopement destinations. You could honestly spend an entire week just exploring there!
After watching the sunrise, we started at the window arches. These two were troopers! They wanted to climb and get all the way up to one of the really difficult spots even in their wedding dress and suit. I never push my clients to do something they aren’t comfortable with, but Amber and Joseph were ready to climb!
It was totally worth it. We got those iconic Arches National Park Moab photos with the two of them looking really small underneath the double arches. We also drove to an arch I had never been to before that they really wanted to check out. Our time there ended in an area unfamiliar to all of us with orange sand and epic shadows.
Your elopement day is about celebrating your relationship and the journey that brought you to marriage. Telling your story is all about capturing the small moments of your adventure. Capturing those in-between moments is amongst my greatest values in how I tell the story of your elopement day:
These are the moments that really paint the picture of the day, and take you back every time you look at the images. I always hunt for these opportunities to tell the story of your day by capturing the essence of where we are.
Adventuring with Amber and Joseph through Arches National Park in Moab was a beautiful thing. Planning adventures like this is one of the coolest parts of my job! Even though I consider myself an expert guide for a Moab elopement, my couples still surprise me. They push me to look at Moab from a different perspective (or go to a completely new spot!) so that I photograph in a different way that’s totally them.
Amber and Joseph specifically wanted to make memories in Arches National Park as an extension of their wedding day. It was such a special day that included many tears and memory-making moments as we adventured in a beautiful place completely new to them. I’m always honored to capture such beautiful stories like theirs!
