Wedding days can often be summarized by a single feeling: joy, excitement, happiness, relief, contentment, or any other number of emotions. On this wedding day, you never just saw the couple’s love for each other and the joy of the day–you felt it. So much of that same feeling of joy pours out straight through their photos! Follow along for the beautiful story of their intimate Yosemite wedding.
I am incredibly honored to have not only been Skye and Isaac’s wedding photographer, but also having been their love story documenter starting with a snow-covered engagement session in Yosemite National Park. I have never met a couple that loves Yosemite as much as these two do! After discovering our mutual love for the park, it very quickly became clear that these two were my people.
Following their engagement session, It was only fitting to have the best party ever in their favorite place. Due to our shared history, this meant that on their day I wasn’t just their Yosemite wedding photographer, I was also their friend. I wouldn’t have missed this day for the world. I love these two so much.
Since our first meeting, Skye and Isaac have modeled for multiple photography workshops and styled shoots that I’ve either hosted or attended. You can’t spend the time we have together taking photos at various locations (and temperatures!) and not become close! I literally just can’t stop taking photos of them and I hope I never have to! On their wedding day it was finally their turn to have Yosemite photography taken that was completely their own!
Skye and Isaac’s Yosemite wedding was an intimate celebration with 50 of their closest humans. It was so intentionally planned and it included everything that was important to them. It’s fair to say that it was the most beautiful day with the most beautiful souls.
The epic day began with a first look where Isaac responded via an “ugly cry” (while still looking amazing) in seeing his bride wearing her self-described “woodland fairy” wedding dress.
The day continued with a ceremony by the Merced River in Yosemite Valley.
This was immediately followed by a private moment just holding each other beside Yosemite Falls.
I’ll never forget this moment during the reception when they had all of their favorite people praying over and blessing them. It was such a special, emotional and beautiful moment.
The day continued and these two just couldn’t stop laughing and having the best time at their wedding. They are literally the happiest couple that I know!
It was the best day ever celebrating two best friends marrying each other surrounded by their closest friends and family. I couldn’t get enough of their smiles and just all of it combined made for a magical day!
“We love YOU!!!!!!! You have been there from the beginning and truly were such a grounding presence on our wedding day. Thank you for capturing our love on the most special of days with your immeasurable talent!!! We are forever grateful to you.”
“Omg!!!!! This is so unbelievable!!! All of your photos are magic. You are magic! You did so much for us that day that I could never repay–you are incredible at what you do! Thank you so much for being there, for loving us, for including us, and for holding us under your guidance and protection. It was so important!! We love you so much!!!!!”
Tell me what elopement or intimate wedding vision you have that I hope this wedding helped inspire!
